Does anyone have a good clear diagram of how the parts go together in the clutch rod part # 7372823. I think I could figure it out but want to make sure. This is the rod that mounts to the frame and tcase.
Thanks

Go to http://www.surplusjeep.com/M38/M38_%20Lead_%20Page.htm and click on the Clutch group and you'll get a fairly clean version of the drawing that is in the ORD 9 - much better than the one in the PDF that I downloaded from this site, anyway. With that drawing and the part designators and part list, you can pretty easily tell the order of assembly. Better than nothing, anyway.

You can copy any of the images from the site I linked above and save them to your own computer, print them out, etc. I think they are WAY cleaner than those in the download of the manual on this site. We saw the same difference between the TM9-8014B manual we purchased and the downloadable version. Either different sources or someone spent a lot of time cleaning up the images for printing. Whichever, I feel fortunate to have access to ANY of it - this stuff was unknown to me when I bought my M38 back in '78. All I could find then was a Clymer manual for the MB which was a compilation of two or three Ordnance manuals.

Usually the PDF copies are scanned at low resolution to cut down on file size and time. They are adequate. I have all the PDF versions of those manuals. I also purchased original and reprints of the ones I use regularly for the better quality images found in them. The reprints if done on an offset type printer are much better quality then the copier versions.
