It would be kind of cool to put up the old radio antenna, but I wouldn't do it without some sort of radio to connect it to. Would the correct radios only be those big, cumbersome field boxes I've seen, or was there a smaller sort of CB used?

The correct radios are big and heavy. They only really do well in a show jeep. Driver's will only suffer from the extra weight and you loose the room in the jeep for people and gear.
