M38 horn

Hello All,
I was recently given an nos 24v horn, that I think will be ok on my M38. It has the following info on the tag:
Horn 24V D.C.
Ordnance No. 8338036
Model No. 1999885 Delco-Remy
I don't have a clue what vehicle it was intended for but it looks similar to the M38 one, and seems to be the right size. BUT it has only one socket for the douglas connector. Not being electrically minded, my best guess is that this connector is for the live feed, and the negative can just be wired to ground.
Can anyone confirm if I'm getting this right, or am I way off the mark?
Thanks,
Owen.
