M38A1C Parts

Post by swordmd »

I am working on a 53 M38A1C it is going to have the M27 105mm Recoilless I need help with two things. First I have a copy of MWO ORD G758-W3 dated oct56. What I need is a pic of spare tire mounts used before 1956 and the the "A" type gun traveling lock. My jeep has a spare tire mount that is odd and I have seen early ones with the CJ type with a brace under it and reinforcing on the inside of the body.Image

Just a note, Bret Mullins Jeep Parts in Texas did a bunch of these. He probably could help you on your restoration. A machine gun Jeep is nasty looking, but the recoiless rifle is WOW!

Brent Mullins has M40 106mm recoilless jeeps not M27 105mm jeeps. The M27s where used in the early 50's. My M38a1c started its life as a 105mm jeep then was changed to a 106mm jeep in 1958. I am working to find the parts to make it a early one with the 105mm.
