Brake shoe part #

Post by russ »

Need some info. looking for part # for front shoes for my 57 m series military jeep. Number 40 break best is close but no hole in bottom for the bottom swivel mounting pin. Think the one I need would fix 41 thru 53 ? mb/cj2a/cj3a/ and m38. Any brand Wagner / Eis/ or Made in Mexico. LOL Russ

Russ,

Your M38A1 used a different brake setup from the 41-53 MB, M38 and CJ's.

Front, primary (long lining)
Shoe only Bendix 303138
Shoe with lining Bendix 303173
Lining only Bendix 1067S3

Rear, Secondary (short lining)
Shoe only Bendix 303138
Shoe with lining Bendix 303174
Lining only Bendix 1067S4

Front refers to the front shoe on each brake with the long lining and rear refers to the rear shoe on each brake with the short lining.

A set for either the front or rear axle consisting of two long lining front primary shoes and two short lining rear secondary shoes is available from NAPA as a True Stop product PN TS40
