Clutch alinement

Hi all,
just off to my local (UK) motor store to buy a generic cluch alinement tool as I've lost my old gearbox shaft. They're only about £11 say $17
I know it's stupid question, but my jeep is in one place and the tool isn't bought yet but.... do these things still fit the old jeeps? I've always had access to old drive shats when I've done this before??
I dont own many 'special' tools, I tend to turn up bits of wood in the lath.....

Here in the US there are several versions of the tool including universal type that fit several different applications made from wood or plastic. If you are good on the lathe then by all means save money and turn your own tool. Splines are not needed.

I'll just turn a broken broom shank down, and then put in on the shelf with my 'special' oil seal replacer bits of wood.

Red is electricians tape wrapped to ID of clutch spline.

Would those 'oil seal replacers' be household plumbing materials?,bugger I never thought of that! and here's me turning down bits of fence post!!
Dug out my special tools; so far I've found
1 x Military spark plug spanner
1 x Multifuel injector socket
1 x Reo hub nut spanner
1 x Reo Multifuel compressor pulley adjusting spanner

I hope so.
The last couple of years have been very very busy, new job, old parents in poor health, laying 30,000 bricks! moving a hillside, re-building two houses.
