Door frame question

Post by 11cgrunt »

According to the catalog for Beachwood canvas the door frames are the same for the m38 and the m38a1. Is this true?

Doors

I am pretty sure that the two are different. I have a couple of door frames and an M38A1 on my side yard. One of the frames is the folding type and does not match up to the angle of the windshield on the M38A1. Maybe someone else knows better.

Door frames

Post by Kendall »

I tried looking-up the door frames in the SNL and found for G-740 (M38) listings for DOOR, folding, left (and right), assy and DOOR left (and right), assy. In SNL G-758 (M38A1) the only listings are for DOOR, left (and right) assy for M170. No listings for M38A1 doors?

Page 115 of TM 9-2320-208-20P (M38A1) [available in downloads] lists the doors and side curtains for the M38A1. I don't know if it gives enough info to answer your question, though.

A quote from a vendor in the UK:

"M38A1 DOORS AND CURTAINS Again the description for the M38 doors and curtains is almost the same for M38A1 except for the forward lower edge of the door which is held to the body with 4 turnbuttons."

I guess the turnbuttons they refer to replace the rope channel on the M38 doors...........
