I understand where the pins are inserted on the pivots for the passenger seat and attached to each pin is a chain and a retainer clip. Where is the retainer clip attached?

I'll have to look at mine again, but I believe there is a small hole for a stud to attach the retaining pin chain.

On one end of the chain is the pin. On the other end of the chain is a split ring type retainer that is shaped like a skeleton key hole. I don't have a picture available tonight. I can take one tomorrow.

Will you post a photo of the components for me so I can be sure I get the right stuff.

Ohh, good questions, I did not know they are pins. Mine has bolts, with nuts holding it in. Could you also post a pic of the back of the seat that rests on the floor.

The pass seat safety pins are a field mod and covered on a MWO. When I get home this weekend I'll post the MWO.

This is what I found in the manuals this morning. I found it on the CD version of the manuals so the picture is awful. I will look tonight in the hard copy and it may answer my question.

At the bottom of the pivot bracket just above the base is a small hole. Pry the retaining clip at the end of the chain apart and slip it through the hole. Try and not spread it too far apart as it will not spring back into position when both ends of the ring go through the hole. That will secure the chain to the base of the pivot.

Do you have pins for the hole at the top of the pivot bracket? If not I used cotter pins that were just a tad smaller than the hole and cut them to length. They seem to work fine and it looked like some NOS that I have seen in the past.

I am missing two of the little rings. I have 2, but appears I need 4. Anyone have a source? I hate to call John for just rings and I am not needing any major parts for a while.

On a different note, where does the other end of the chain for the bow thumb screws attach?

I cannot find a good photo to show you an M38 mounting.

Here is a GPW mount.

I don't remember for sure, but I thought it was similar, with a small hole in the bracket.

On the M38 the wing bolt and chain are attached to the flat portion of the main bow since they must move over two feet from in use to stowed position and the winged bolt is installed in two different brackets.
