I have a spare set of M38 wiper motors that have a brass knob that pulls out and pushes in. I didn't see those knobs in TM9-8012. Anyone know what they are for? Thanks, Sonny

They are on/off valves. Originally that style wiper was not installed by Willys they are field replacements. It was very common to see one of them installed on the passenger side to facilitate turning off the passenger side when vac was a bit weak to improve the driver's side operation.

I have a NOS wiper motor as you describe dated 1943. I read somewhere that they were also installed in MBs as an upgrade from manual wipers. I also have another wiper motor that is identical to the aforementioned motor except that it does not have military markings on it. Perhaps for a CJ2? I'm still new here and was just curious.
