Holes in Floor of M38

Post by PaulB »

Hi everyone, just seeing what the holes in my M38 floor could be. They look cleaner than any job Bubba would do. I was thinking they might be there for a Radio Power Cable Guard. I saw one on the Midwest Military parts page and thought it might be it. Any other ideas?

Thanks...

Same holes on my M-38, not related to the radio power cable guard though. That shield most probably matches the drills that you have next to the holes in question.

Best Regards:

My radio M38A1 Jeep had those same holes. Was for the radio power cable guard, no doubt. John

The radio power cord guards were run in several locations depending on the radio system that was installed. Most of the left wheel house mounted units the guard ran right behind the backs of the front seats. Some of the larger across the rear set mounts ran the cord along the right wheel house bottom edge and some across to the left side. The left wheel house mounted man packs were probably supported in the field with that mid floor crossing of the standard guard. We have the bulk of the radio installation drawings in PDF in the downloads section if you want to be sure of the routing for the set you are using.
