I tried searching but didn't come up with what I had hoped. Remember I am new to this so bear with me.

I removed the front fenders, grill etc. today with minimal difficulty except for those mysterious nuts and bolts that were add-ons to make things work by whomever. Read: My cutoff wheel came in handy today.

My big question is....is there a reference guide for bolt sizes used and their application? Thread count, length etc.?

Probably asking a lot but after seeing what I have today...oh man, please tell me there is such a reference!!!!

The M38 Reference Guide is the easiest and fastest way to ID
the correct bolts. It is the best book for the M38 with pics.

ORD 9 SNL G-740 in the download section.

You should download it. It list every part. It takes a few times reading into it to get acquainted but not hard and it is very helpful and a must have. Also check out the other useful downloads as well that have been placed here by these great guys.

No kidding, do yourself a favor and download all the stuff-
it's all there man..print in out and put it in a loose leaf
binder-on the work bench-(you'll need more than 1 binder)
it will become your go to book ..

Ahhh...got it, going to need a few reems of paper!

There's kind of a trick to it, but once you understand how it is organized you can usually find what you are looking for quite quickly. The key for all the abbreviations used in the part descriptions is near the front of the manual.
