M-100 LANDING LEG SUPPORT PLUNGER - BEND TO REMOVE??

Post by bluewatersailor »

On my 1952 M-100, the spring is broken (rusted out) on my support leg plunger. I see that Midwest Military has them for sale. MW's catalog photo shows a straight plunger handle. I deduce that the plunger is assembled and disassembled by bending the handle end. TM 9-2330-201-14 is of no help. Can anyone confirm this before I go and screw it up?

same thing happened to my trailer...this is a non serviceable part....I took the bend out of the plunger, removed same, cleaned up, installed a replacement spring, reinstalled, bent plunger, works great for the last 6 years!!...Wilf
