Some repop parts

from Midwest Military, don't match the paint on my vehicle. I've gotten other parts from various suppliers, and the olive green on them matches my jeep. Does anyone know where I can get the correct touch up paint from?Image

Title edited by management to properly reflect what item was actually color incorrect from the vendor. In this case it was not cans of spray paint that were not the correct color. It was the finish of the repop parts that were not the exact matching color

Then post a selection of photos that show your jeep's finish under several different lighting conditions from several different angles. Also what paint was used to paint your jeep.

I'll have to contact Bill, the guy who sold through Eric Hanson to me, to find that out. Needless to say, we're not really on good terms.

I think you just got lucky with the parts matching. I doubt they match 100% though. If you were to obtain the actual paint they sprayed the the part and sprayed it directly on your tub, I bet it wouldn't match. They may be real close and look to match because you have separation in the pieces. You'll only get a match when the paint comes from the same batch or you get a paint sample match. Who knows what your paint is and where your paint came from. Maybe prev owner may know?

You didn't make it very clear. Is the photo you posted a sample of the color of your jeep or is it the actual repop parts vs original color photo. If the latter is the case then which are repop parts?

Paint and parts

The gentleman did not get paint from MWM. He got the parts there. There are several shades of OD that vendors use to paint their parts. I have little say so in what color they choose.
You are lucky that other parts have matched.

Alright John, no offense to Midwest Military. Perhaps I shouldn't have used the terminology "correct touch up paint". I just meant correct to what I have on there now, not correct for that model of vehicle.

So then which repop parts had a color that did not match?

No, I bought the jeep already fully painted. I then was ordering stuff from Midwest Military, and assumed, based off the year and model of my vehicle, that the Repop part's color would be the same color.

So where then did these rattle cans of touchup paint come from? What brand and number are they?

You are better off to assume that no NOS parts or pre painted parts are going to match.

Do yourself a favor and just order some rattle cans from RAPCO and keep them handy for when you need to paint your small parts. I have been ordering cans from RAPCO for a few years now and the color still matches perfect to what I previously painted.

Another thing you can assume is the MWM parts will fit and be of high quality and that is saying a lot considering all the slave labor third world crap on the market.

So, order your cans and when you get your parts from John, acitone wipe, prime paint... Done.

For some reason my reflectors were taken off my M38 but the holes were left. At NAPA I found the correct color & size reflectors in bare metal. I painted them the same OD color as my jeep. They cost $1.50 each, and I want to say the reflector pieces were removable from the bracket.
