Installing my Sidecurtains

And there were no footman loops. I installed footman loops, but the curtains overhung the side lip of the Jeep by over an inch, so I installed the footman loops high on the sidewall. I am looking at other M38A1 pics, and they all have the side curtains stopping at the lip of the jeep, not descending down the sidewall, and the footman loops are a few inches higher. Is this a common discrepancy? If not, maybe I need to get a local canvas shop to cut the side curtain a little higher, and reposition the footman loops?

Drooping side walls usually means the bows are too low or the windshield has been tweaked a bit aft from people pulling themselves up out of the front seats by pulling on the top or upper side of the windshield.
Are your top bows, rod work and canvas all stock? Is your canvas repop from a vendor or nos military?

The canvas is all from Beachwood Canvas. The bows look stock (definitely old and painted over several times. I replaced the weather seal between the windshield and the top of the dash. I didn't bring the very top of the side curtains up flush with the seam of the canvas top (maybe a 1/2" off), but they hang down further than that discrepancy would allow.

Is the rod work stock?
Do the doors hang in the opening correctly when attached to the tub and windshield?
Is this about where all your bows and rods fit?

The rods were from Beachwood Canvas as well. The passenger door sits right, the driver's side droops a little low, and I have to pull it up into the door glove to close it. I'll have to look at where the bows hang next week, I'm headed to NY in a couple hours. I'll get some pics when I get back. Even if everything else fits with some adjustments, by not bringing the top of the side curtains up to the inside lip of the canvas, do you think I'll still have a problem? like I said, it's maybe 1/2" lower. The holes have already been punched (by me), so I can't make it go up any higher. I guess I'll need to pull the foot man loops, bondo the holes, and reinstall them up higher.
