Rear Main seal

I am proud to announce that the new tooling is complete and the production run has been delivered. We now have a great rubber rear main seal for the jeep engines. These fit and work great.

This seal has been a real problem for about 2 years now.

John, Has it been tested by you? How many. Does it fit all 134's or not? I do thank you for being industrious enough to help the Jeep world out with new panels etc. that fit and work. Next you need to put MD Juan out of business with full bodies. Imagine Als' bodies 8O better than original. John in SD.

I don't think it was meant to be a "one size fits all" seal. The crank and cap machine tolerance limits still apply to lip type seals no matter where or how they are made. The older cranks with out of tolerance seal surfaces will have to stay with the rope seal or machine the surfaces to fall withing lip seal tolerances.

The seal has been tested in both M38 and WWII engines. This was produced by a major seal manufacturer with my assistance. I have exclusive rights to the seal for a period of time because of my involvement. The seal fits all 134 engines with standard main caps. Once a cap has been machined, all bets are off.

The crank seal journal diameter will only work with lip type seals if it is within the design parameters.Cranks produced before the lip seal was introduced by Willys had a wider tolerance on the seal journal. If you run any modern lip type seal with an early crank that has a lip sealing surface journal greater than 2.312" the seal will overheat and the risk of a wiped out bearing is very strong. This issue has been around since the 1950's. Another thing to watch is many crank shops fail to clean the seal journal up and polish it. This can also destroy a new lip type seal.

The recent issue in the last few years and in the late 90's were a bad batch of lip seals from the OEM supplier.
