I found a Ramsey Model 200L 8,000 lb winch from a 1962 International Scout on Ebay. I already posted about it, but there seems to be some serious Scout hate going on here!
I did some research, and Scout's of the period seem to have a Dana 18 transfer case. I see some of the older CJ3's used the Ramsey 200L. I might just need to get the driveshaft modified to make it fit. Any opinions?

As I mentioned in the other post you should still go to the Ramsey web site and download the 200 series data and installation drawings from which you can make sound, well informed decisions!

Here's the link:

http://www.ramsey.com/industrial/manuals.html

Download all the manuals and drawings listed there for the M series 200 winch.

Especially the installation & deimension drawing at:

The winch mounting brackets are all different from what you'll need so you'll have to make almost everything. Not hard.

I can't see the PTO unit to clearly, but it has a remote control lever connection and you'll be wanting the top mounted lever if you want it to come up between the seats as normal. I think it'll be difficult to find a lever. You might be able to weld a straight handle on the lever and make it work ok.

Also the PTO unit itself needs to be "clocked" at the proper angle to clear various items. Some are dual angled and you can change them for either the Willys CJ or a different angle for Willys truck. I can't tell if the Scout PTO is a good angle for your needs.

I'd be careful with this purchase. But the current price is very inviting if his reserve isn't very high. Shipping cost seems high.
