Since the "complete rear floor" I got from MD Juan wasn't complete :evil: , I've ordered the hat channels & rear valance panel from Classic Enterprises, along with a few other bits.

Can anybody help me out by providing dimensions A, B & C as shown below:

There's a bigger copy of the sketch above in my photo album here:

Thanks in advance,
Owen.

hi evanso
dimensions taken from a rear floor for CJ3A MD Juan, I guess that is equal to M38
A = 13-9/16 "
B = 13 "
C = 39-1/2 "

You can display a picture where I can see both reliefs near the rear fender?
It is to see if they are equal to those of CJ3A, although the back seat of M38 are not needed.

Hello JAM,

Thanks for the dimensions. This is the replacement floorpan I'm using (which happens to be from MD Juan):

I believe it will be identical to the CJ3A one. Can anyone confirm this?

Owen.

Yes the same floor is used in both jeeps. They just use different mounting fittings for the rear seat. The 3A uses the floor divits for seat mountings but they are left blank on the 38 version of the floor.

I am making the rear floor taking like one of CJ3A, and I did the reliefs for the footman loops front, but I am in doubt whether to play the back seat, and they will not be used.

Are all these reliefs M38 are reminiscent of the 3 A?, I have seen some relief rear floor with these different ...

Holy-moly Jam, my compliments to you. That is amazing to say the least. My floor has no footman loop hole provisions though FYI.

The M38 is a militarized version of the CJ3A. Willys used an existing design and tooling as a base for the "new" M38 and added a reinforced frame, 24v electrics, military hardware, fording system, etc. Sheet metal is largely the same between the vehicles.

JAM - excellent work!

That wouldn't be too hard! :mrgreen:

JAM,
You've done a really great job there! Very impressed.

As for the footman holes, I've not seen those before either. It would make sense though. Those five stampings were there for some reason; why not for tying down loads in the back? Recessing the footmans down like that means you could slide heavy loads in the back without it catching on the footmans.

After you've removed the rear seat, of course. :roll:

The 2 far outside indents and rear knockouts were for the 3A rear seat but I think the 3 forward indents were intended for footman loops.

I just searched the web a few minutes looking for 3A tubs and found they had footman loops at those 3 forward indents.

The three forwards are indents to set the top half in the CJ3A, but in the case of M38 does not apply, but could be used to tie load as the rear.

Thanks for the compliments :oops: , but I think that I could not teach much to MD Juan, if we talk about technology, but I'm sure it could carry large amounts of mystical work, and love for what is produced....,

This is a front seat of MD Juan ...

And this is one of "MD Jam" :mrgreen: unfinished and made in the backyard of my house, without heavy machinery.
