In a different post, Dave reminded me of the tub drain plugs. These are the rubber plugs that go in the holes where the pillar attaches to the tub floor.

I know these are very hard to come by and I don't think I have ever seen an original. Does anyone have a photo of them?

You know Greg since I wrote that I've been wondering a few things myself.
1. Why have I still not got round to fitting the wiper motors or have I and I've just forgotten!
2. Why have I still not got round to sorting the carb out.
3. Why have I still not had a go at fixing my horn
4. Why have I still not fixed the oil pressure gauge/sender problem.
5. Why have I still not fitted the lower righthand door support thingy.
6. Why have I still not fitted the rear axle top hat half shaft covers.
and where did I put those drain covers, they were like a flat washer with a wing nut like set of ears. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find them.

The civvy CJ3A tub has the oval drain holes in the bottom of the pillar on each side that gets an oval rubber plug. The M38 tub has double holes in the front floors just a bit inboard of the pillar. These are covered by a double round cover with a winged bolt in the middle. Early and late only differed with weather there was a rubber gasket included with the metal covers.

I think the M38 may have had similar plugs.........

That is an M38 floor above and the drain in the photo is an M38 drain which is the same as an M38A1 floor drain.

The civvy tub uses these rubber plugs that go in the pillars themselves.

Wes, sorry I probably wasn't clear. The section of the manual that I posted as you state, is from the M38 parts manual.

Just to be clear, am I correct that the M38 has the above floor drains as you posted (one on each side) and the pillar holes (one on each side of the floor) and the pillar hole is plugged by a rubber plug.

The M-38 has the two holes with a 1/4"x20 weld nut in between them and uses the plates with thumbscrews as drain plugs... as seen in the first picture of this thread...

The rubber ovals are used in the civilian series vehicles...

I am clear on the drain holes and covers. I have those original parts and understand their location and purpose.

But, where the pillar attaches to the tub floor is there not a hole that is filled with the plug that I reference from the manual? On my tub their is a hole on each side where the pillar attaches to the floor. Is this a non-factory hole?

Ryan's photo to my rescue on explaining myself. The two blue arrows point to holes that extend into the tub and exit at the pillar. The two yellow arrows are the double drain holes that Wes posted a photo of. Are the two blue arrow holes filled with the rubber plugs?

Sorry, Misunderstood the thread/question, my tub does not have the holes as teh repro quarter panels I installed do not have them, no did the hat channels...

My tub has rubber grommets in the blue arrow locations, at least on the inside of the tub.

Remi, that's the same plug I have, goes in from the inside of the tub. I'll post your photo for you, I hope....!!
