Your thoughts on this rig

My thoughts are this is a M38 that had no title and a title for a CJ2a was applied to it as were the data plates. Cowl box has been removed and patched over. I've had some opposition to say otherwise saying its a repo tub but I dont see anything that would suggest a 2A. It has no willys script, has a M38 windshield, grill, tailgate. They have ommitted the grill hinges and I think have mounted it to the new square crossmember. If you look closely, you can see the frame is boxed up front with the circle punch outs. What do you think? I say M38.

I agree with your assessment. Severly butchered M38. Frame still has traces of OD paint.

Dash is M38 (small glovebox, removable instrument panel etc.). Front floor clearly has M38 drain holes. Vents in the toolbox. Still has the door channels fitted to the windscreen.

Almost certain this is an M38 (at least, it was once). Looks like Bubba is alive and well.

Definately M38 tub, windshield, grill, tailgate, and frame.

I sent the seller this message:

Code: Select all

Hello,

The body tub, windshield, grill, tailgate and frame are all 1950-52 M38. Is the CJ2A title correctable?

Don't think the seller's driven it that fast - you'd be able to see the hole in the seat where his a#* chewed it's way through.

Or the steering wheel would be Pear shaped!

I like that the visible parts of the undercarriage have been
spray painted black, leaving the rest of it rusty. Cute legs
on the young lady. But Florida title with Alabama plates?
That's curious.
