Fender bolts

I bought a set of 8 replacement fender bolts (ord no. 7372886, ORD-9 page 286) for my 1951 M38. Apparently they are to bolt the fender to the grill and body tub:

Now, the ORD-9 calls for 8 of these bolts, but I make the following:

3 bolts into grill (per side)
3 bolts into body tub (per side, not counting the side step ones)

At the school I went to this would make 12 bolts per jeep, not 8. So, can anyone confirm which bolt holes these bolts go into? My M38 was totally disassembled when I bought it, so I'm pretty much in the dark here. :?

Thanks in advance,
Owen.

3 bolts into grill (per side) These six bolts are listed in the ORD 9 on page 324 (Guard, Radiator mount screws)

3 bolts into body tub (per side, not counting the side step ones)If you read carefully on page 286 the 8 bolts were used only thru serial MC34151. After used 6 bolts
After serial MC34151 6 + 6 = 12!

Where did you buy those bolts? Are they modern replacements from a fastener company?

I got the bolts from a CMP parts dealer in Holland:

http://www.lwdparts.com

the bag they came in had "Genmarc Jeep & Truck Parts" on it.
If you read carefully on page 286 the 8 bolts were used only thru serial MC34151. After used 6 bolts
Thanks Wes, I missed that. My M38 is MC-26057, so the 8 bolts are correct for mine?

My best guess is that the 4th bolt per side goes through the uppermost hole in the fender next to the cowl (closest to the hood). Any thoughts on this? I have a few spares that came with the jeep, so I might go with 6 per side (if they're still useable).....
