can someone identify this truck

it seems to have the same engine and waterproof system as the m38 and even the same instrument panel. I'm actually using the instrument panel in my m38 now. is it just a civilian truck that was modded or was it originally military?

Looks like a late 40's Willys Truck. Don't know if the military used them or not. The engine does look very M38-ish though.

The military used a lot of Willys pickups and wagons but I doubt any were delivered to the military with 24 volt systems. I would be more inclined to believe the truck was GI's up by a civvy owner GI wannabe.
Post some closeups of the dash plates and the truck's regular serial plate down on the door side of the driver's seat pedestal.

Agreed with Wes. M38 24v powerpack, BO drive and marker lights, M-series instrument panel was a civilian makeover.
Or its a rare, undocumented military prototype (likely description if it shows up on ebay)
Check the data plates on the glove compartment cover. Those were not there on a civilian. They might be from the M-series parts donor.
It will need floors.

i'll grab some more pictures when i go back up to that property this weekend, the truck is surrounded by other truck that look the same but the dash, and 24v stuff/engine are different

i looked at the truck again today, the data plates are from a m38 and are pop riveted onto the dash. the engine's serial number is mc77391, which confirms it is just an m38 engine in a truck right?

Yep. A military wannabe had an M38 junker and a half decent pickup and voila frankentruck!

at least i found a m38 engine with all 24v stuff and a serial number still, guess it can be my backup engine
