shifter boot
Hello, can someone tell me how the trans shifter boot works with the floor board panel at that location? Does the boot go on the tower then the panel goes on top? or the boot goes on top just through the panel? Thanks, RHarris

The military and civilian tranny top covers are not the same. Only the military top has provisions for the integral (to the tranny) boot. If you see a civvy boot mounted tho the small civvy floor cover with the retainer ring then someone has modified the jeep to use the civvy boot and floor cover or the tranny has been replaced with a civvy unit and they needed the civvy boot and floor cover. So if you want your M38, M38A1 or M170 to look correct you must have the military tranny top and integral boot with a small floor cover that does not have the four screw holes for the civvy boot retainer ring.

trans boot
Thanks Wesk, my cover has one hole with a rolled edge. The boot has a bell shape and I didn't know if it just locked in the cover or the cover went on top to seal out water.RH
