Are the brake cylinders and master cylinders the same for the m38 and m38a1?

From the ORD-9's:
Master cylinder part numbers are the same, so they will fit both jeeps.
Wheel cylinder service replacements for the M38 are the same as the M38A1.
Based on this, M38A1 wheel cylinders fit the M38. Not sure what the difference between the M38A1 wheel cylinders and the factory-installed M38 ones were, though.
Fyi, the original M38 & M38A1 master cylinder comes in either aluminium or cast iron construction. The original cast iron one looks like this:

That casting number is FE-2693.

Thank you for the information. I guess this will also be the same for the WWII era jeeps. M38 will fit MB/GPW?

1" master cylinder, 1" front, 3/4" back, master cylinder bolt holes to frame change somewhere along the line, not sure when.

I'm wanting to know if any one knows the size and length needed for the brake linnings for a 1 ton willys truck. Thanks in advance. Doug9
