Fuel Filter

Post by Scott21 »

What in line fuel filters are people using in their M38's? I am using a Napa 3002.

???? The Fram C-4 is a cartridge oil filter that fits the military jeep canister filter assembly. It is what I use on my jeep.

I have a simple in-line plastic filter before the fuel pump in addition to the filter that is built onto the fuel pick-up in the tank.

I use the stock in-tank fuel filter and the Cuno oil filter. Works great.

The stock in tank filters are more than adequate. In line filters are bandaids for trash filled tanks and damaged or deteriorated in tank filters. They end up hanging by two short pieces of rubber next to the exhaust manifold in a butchered steel tube. Another source for leaks and fires.

Good point Wes. My tank is clean. If the intank filter is good enough, Its good enough for me. My 38 did not have a good fuel tank when I got her and the PO installed the filter. She now has a good tank.
