M38a1 master cylinder parts list

Post by superm555 »

I have a 1953 m38a1 that I got from someone that started restoration and so there are parts missing and I am not sure of just all the parts that are supposed to be there. I have downloaded the parts list from here but there seems to be two page 235 in the download and no page 236. Can anyone help me out with the page?
Thanks
Mike

Download the parts list for the M38 (ORD 9 SNL G-740). The master cylinders are the same for both the M38 and M38A1. The pictures for the master cylinder are on pages 237 & 238.

Note also that there are two types of master cylinder (aluminium body or cast iron body).....

The aluminum master cylinder was original factory on M38's and I believe to some point early in M38A1 production (maybe MD29295). There is some very slight difference in the Cast Iron master cylinders produced for service replacement in the M38 (ORD# 7416478, WO# 805238, LO# FN14054) and the OEM cast iron cylinder used in the M38A1/M170 (ORD# 7416524, WO# 805238, LO# FE14054B). There appears to be no difference in the parts used in each cylinder.

I put together a temporary page 236 for your ORD 9 SNL G-758 until I can find an original page.

Thanks, it looks like I have all the parts then, I do have the cast iron one and my biggest issue was at the back with the copper washers and what all goes in back. All I need other than what is on the page then is the brake lit switch on the very end correct?

I know I need the heat shield, will have to buy one someplace and the mounting bolts should be easy enough to get almost anywhere. I do appreciate the helps. Thanks
