i'll post pics in a bit. my m38 gas tank is in really rough shape, does anyone know someone who would be up for repairing it or telling me if it could even be repaired?

I used Performance Radiator to repair mine after it had been sitting in a barn in Michigan for over 20 years. It was nasty to say the least. I dropped it off and picked it up two days later and it looked brand new inside and out. They have locations throughout the US.

I've used these guys to recondition my M38 fuel tank a few years ago. They did a nice job..... the tank is now kept full of fuel and no problems so far.

The large flat area surfaces are easily replaced with welded in panels. Just ship her to a tank rebuilder or take her to your local radiator shop.

Again it depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. I have seen tanks that bad rebuilt. The alternative to rebuilding that tank is buying a repop which fit better now then they used to. The only repop on the market is made by MD Juan in the Phillippines and there are several distributors here in the US. So if you want a repop just shop the vendors.
