Can anyone tell me if these wiring conector tips can be removed and reused again? The wiring insulation for the rear lights is crumbling and I'd like to rewire the light housings. I also wanted to know What bulbs did what. I think the two top bulbs are? and then brake light only on the left side for my jeep? and the lower bulb is the blackout light red. the right side top light is white for what circuit and the lower is balckout red again. Also last picture this Black out driving light housing was painted black and not the colour of the jeep body correct? and does the front metal cap come off to reveilthe galss in behind to clean it? Or is it just a bulb that pops out of the rear?

If they are not crimped they can be heated to remove the solder joint and re-used.
I have come across both wiring harnesses that have been soldered and then crimped and other that have just been soldered.

You may need new rubber ends that go under the Collette if the ones on your harness are hard and dry.

The B/O light is a sealed unit and it would take a bit more work to remove the cover and lens. I have done it to convert one to 12v by soldering in a 12v bulb and re-crimping the cover and shade. Lots of work when there are lots of new bulbs out there.

Crimp bullet connectors available at FLAPS or hardware stores can be substituted for the original connectors if you are unable to save your originals. Be sure to put the slip-on rubber components onto the wire before you crimp. Removal and re-installation of the rubber can be made easier with a shot of WD40.
The face and under-hood of the blackout light is flat black on NOS units. But I have also seen OD faces with black under the hood on new units.

Agreed, the dis-assembly of the BO light is a lot of work. Before you jump in to taking it apart try using solvent, brush, Q-tips etc to try to clean the paint an crud off the glass. With luck you can work through the slot and everything will clean away.
