Chasing leaks and squeaks..

This weekend I:

1. Pulled all 15 head studs 1 at a time, applied P-Tex#1 and
reinstalled/retorqued. My engine builder had installed all 15
new studs dry, no sealant, needless to say i had coolant
running everywhere.

2. Installed the missing cover gasket on my Melling oil pump.

3. Pulled the 24V genny and the front oil resevoir was indeed dry.
When i pressed my auto elect mech about it he assured me oil
was not needed as the newly installed bearings are sealed. I
asked "what about the oil thrower running dry??" He didnt have
an answer.. i left him with a copy of TM9-1825B. I set up a
basic test stand and spun it +- 1500-2000 rpm-no noise.
Reinstalled genny.

So far So Good-took her for a spin last nite, got her up to operating temp-NO LEAKS!! I've got an annoying belt squeal to investigate.. Hmmm.
Ran her about 1/2 hr and she quit me!! I'm thinkin junk in the carb-
gettin no gas but i havent had a chance to investigate. Had to walk back to the barn and get the John Deere and a recovery strap

Ah, the things we wont do for the girls we love!!

Aha! You are suppose to carry the strap and your cell phone in the jeep so all you have to do is call the other girl you love!
