Well,i finally posted pics of my M38 project in the gallery.
In the last photo you can see what bubba did to mount the engine plate to the motor mount.
I am assuming that the F134 engine plate i have will mount up to the motor and resolve this problem.
Any opinions?

From the photo it looks as though someone took a plate and bolted it to the original moutning bracket and then bolted the motor mount to it.
If that is what happened, then by getting the correct moutning plate and motor plate could fix your problems.
I don't know if you can mount the motor plate backwards, but a couple more photos of the mount at different angles might help.

That's the standard procedure to use a pre CJ3A/M38 front engine plate in a M38 or CJ3A. That's the nice clean way. I've seen some real Bubba jobs where they cut the engine plate mount ear off and weld it back with some gawd awful looking reinforcement plates.
