Between the military T90 transmission and T18 transfer case and the civilian version?

on the shift tower on the t-90 is a little different. It still all works the same and are completely interchangeable.

The civilian transfer case didn't have the vent line; there was a breather fitted on top (similar to the WW2 jeeps), but this can easily be removed. Also, there was no bolt-in pin through where the transfer case levers pivot; there was a knock-in pin (again, like the WW2 jeep).
The civilian T90 box is very similar to the M38; the noticeable difference being the shift tower & lever (as Bill_F said). You can see the civvy shift tower on mine here:
I replaced mine with the military shift tower, but the military boot will fit over the civvy shift tower if you don't want to go to the added expense.
Here's a shot of my in-progress civvy T90 mated to a late-WW2 (GPW) jeep transfer box, with the military shift tower fitted:
There's a slightly bigger photo here:

Other than the minor differences noted above, the only other thing I changed was removed the speedo drive from the transfer case and replaced it with the longer M38 type (so I can use the correct M38 speedo cable). I "dry fitted" it to the engine and everything lines up perfect, so I should have no problems when I eventually get the jeep back on the road. In theory.
Hope this helps,
Owen.

I did forget about the transfer difference. o well been a few months since I have had one apart, and even longer since I have seen a civvy one.
