Trying to find the correct lettering my M38.
I can read the hood numbers 20899314
The rear bumper on the driver side I think is 2 Dalta ( has a triangle next to the 2) on top and 24-0 on the bottom. The right rear has 2Z on the bottom and I can not read the top. I had nothing on the front bumpers.
Are the front and back the same? What could I use to made this look correct if I do not have all the numbers.
Thanks Wes for the help, I'm sure you are the one that knows.

These entries are the major command and unit entries and will go on the viewer's left or pass side of the front bumper all on one line.

This entry is the company, troop or battery and vehicle # in order of march. Usually on one line. I am not familiar with a letter used after the vehicle oder of march #.

So your example on front bumper passenger side as viewed from the front is:

2 ^ -24-0 So this would be 2nd Armored Div, 24th Ordnance (reg. batt, brig. etc.)
Note: ^ = triangle

If marked under the old Combat Arms System then it would be 2nd Tank Battalion, 24th Ordnance

At the far right of the front bumper as viewed from front would be the company, squadron, troop designation and the vehicle's order of march number.

This can be found in TB 746-93-1
