I'm about to buy some pre-made canvas seat covers, probably from Weebee. My question is what are you guys using for the cushions? Springs are not an option. I was shocked by the cost of what a good foam costs. I'd like to hear what you guys have come up with, and I am aware they sell the pads but want to possibly buy my own. Are seats 4 or 3 bottoms what about the backs?.

You saw mine-they came from WeeBee. I got them complete with
foam. The front seat bottoms have a plywood base with 2 blindnuts.
The canvas is stapled to the plywood-not a finished look. I'll
eventually make up some pseudo pans to give them a finished look.
The front seat backs are canvas covered all sides so they'll conform to
the curvature of the metal seat frame. Rear back and bottom cushions
are canvas covered as well. And dang that canvas smells just right..

I read that as the seat backs were originally 2-1/2", and the bases were originally 5". If you're long-legged, it might be worth considering a slightly shallower seat base.

If you want, I can check my original seat canvas/spring/pan components, to see what they measure up like.....

You can get some seat foam out of an junkyard vehicle and cut it to fit. I used some out of a older Chevy pickup. Use the passenger side,less wear.
Use an electric carving knife to cut the foam.

If you are looking for original seat pans, I stock them.
