I've been riding my M38A1 around town quite a bit

And a few things have popped up. Is the throwout bearing louder than on a modern vehicle? I know it is on some old cars. Is there a bit of resistance naturally in the drivetrain? It seems to come to a stop fairly quickly, and when it's on a slight incline, it doesn't roll. I regreased the axles, replaced the bearings and shims, replaced the gear oil in the axles, transmission, transfercase, and engine, replaced the Ujoints, greased all the zirk fittings, upgraded the brakes to 11" drums, replaced the bellcrank, tie rod ends, and replaced the shocks and lief springs. The death wobble is long gone, but it seems a bit stiffer and slower now. Maybe all that stuff just needs time to break in? Opinions? I'm going top swap the engine oil again, is there a recommended weight for the winter?
Oh, and one more thing! The fuel gage registers from empty, up to a little over half a tank. I fill it more, and the needle still doesn't go any higher. It falls, when I have used up more than half a tank, but not until then. Any suggestions there?
