Hello,
I have an M38 serial #11833 the data plate says year for manufacture 1951. I have never seen one that didn't have a place for the date of delivery. Is this unusal? Also I believe in Ryans book this serial # should be a 1950 model. Please clue me in

That's for MC-11891 (about 58 jeeps after yours) and is a 1951 year of manufacture. No place for the DoD, just states "YR MFD. 1951". Is your plate similar to the one in that post?

1950 and 1951 were all that were used from Sep 1950 thru April 1951. The only way to confirm the month of delivery is to date the drivetrain and then that will not guarantee a lot.

That's not off my jeep btw, before I get an irate jeep owner on at me for pinching their serial number!
Mine's a later one (July '51).
