Are the throwout bearins on the M38A1

Post by Deadguy »

noisier than they would be on a more modern vehicle? Mine rattles sometimes when I push the clutch in. When I have the vehicle running, but in neutral, there is no noise. When I have the vehicle running down the road, again no noise, until I push the clutch in.

No they are not any noisier then a 6 cyl 3 spd chevy or ford from the 50's. You've been running your jeep for several months now. If the sound has changed since the beginning then something is wrong. Did it sound this loud two months ago?

I actually haven't driven it that much, considering how long I've had it. I've been constantly replacing stuff. The throwout bearing has always made some noise, but it seems to have gotten a bit worse lately (but only sometimes).
