I purchased a new wiring harness which did not come with some of the insulated wiring connectors that fit inside the metal shells. The part I need is the insulated, one into two or two into two wire connectors. I searched the manual for a parts reference number and can find everything about the wiring (shells and end bullets) except these rubber insulated connectors.
Trying to reuse my old connectors resulted in the rubber falling apart in my hands. Oops. Maybe I should reword that.
Anyway, would anyone know what these are called and if they are available anywhere? I will try calling my usual sources tomorrow but would like to know what exactly to call them to avoid getting the wrong item.
Well.....once again I jumped the gun a little. I went on the site for Midwest Military and he shows them as Douglas Interlinks. Terminology makes sense. He has one into two or the one to one style. Will call him tomorrow.
Yup. Another lesson learned. I went to the download sections and not your photo album site. Did not find anything so I posted before checking with suppliers. Your photo site brings up a whole new resource. Thanks!
Last night I converted my headlight Packard ends to Douglas by separating the parts and reinstalling. Got the idea from a post some time back on this site. A few of the rubber grommets were a little fragile but they all worked to shield the wire.
Wes...your photos do prompt me to ask one more question. There is a photo of three pin tools but I do not see where these might be used. Could you explain please. It would be nice to know what I may run into someday if I have a problem and need to use something like those.
They are used for pushing pins in and out of water proof multi pin plugs like the plugs on your voltage regulator, light switch and generator. There use is explained and illustrated in the TM 9-1825E Bendix/Scintilla connectors, harnesses, switches and magnetos.
Maybe I should reword that.
