So, I took the M38A1 on a long drive yesterday

from Philadelphia to Wilkes-Barr. I double checked all the oils, gear oil included, and ended up topping off a bit in the transfer case (I had the fill hole open, and the oil level was well bellow the lip). It was driving fine, and I stopped about halfway out for gas. I smelled gear oil, checked underneath, and the overdrive was leaking quite a bit. The overdrive is a new rebuild from Herm, and I haven't had a problem before. I was thinking, maybe my garage floor isn't level, I put in too much gear oil? I cleaned it up, and continued my journey. In Wilkes Barr, it looked like the leak had lessened. I pulled off the fill plug, and now some oil is flowing out. I'm letting it, and I'll seal it up without adding any more oil for the return trip Any suggestions, warnings, or ideas?
