I need you experts advise,is the miltary style trad good for snow, mud and rain,or are the modern type treads better over all?I have a m38a1 and love the milititary look but i drive it very often in bad conditions.
Thanks in advance,

Pete, there are dozens of opinions on this subject and most will
tell you that if you drive regularly on pavement in bad conditions,
rain, snow, ice then stay away from military NDCC's.
Check these out..

That's what we put on ours. They have a tread pattern very close to the tires that were on it when I bought it years ago and drove on rainy and icy roads in Washington and Idaho without problems. From the side they are not glaringly obvious for a driver vehicle that they aren't NDCCs. Still has that ruggedly handsome look

That tire:
Is an improvement over the NDCC but the newer radial all weather is the way to go for a daily driver. When I say daily driver I mean a jeep used everyday you go anywhere weather to and from work, to the store or to the pub. The occasional cruiser IE weekends and once or even twice for shorty trips during the week those STA's are fine. If you keep the speed under 50 in snow and ice the STA'a are fine also. I have the same treads on my M37 driver but I do not deliberately head down a snow or ice covered highway with them at 50 plus MPH.
