M2 Decontaminator attachment

Post by DFoley »

I just received an original M2 decontaminator unit. For the life of me I can't figure out how it attaches to the three little mounting blocks under the passenger seat. I can't get the holes on the bracket to align with holes on all three mounting blocks at the same time. Are all three mounting blocks to be utilized? Can anybody provide some pic of a bracket installed? What size screws are to be utilized?
Thanks,
Dan

Surely a few of you out there have the M2 decontaminator installed on your M38. Could someone please snap a picture of how the bracket is attached to the mounting blocks. I sure could use the help.
Thanks,
Dan

There were several decontaminator kits. If the bracket doesn't match the pattern of the three blocks on the tool box it is not the correct one. Lay a paper over the three blocks and make a tracing marking the center of the holes. Scan that and use it to email to sellers to confirm you are buying the right one.

Thanks...upon further digging, I'm now sure I have the wrong bracket for the M38 application. It seems as though at least two different styles of brackets were made. One style with only one buckle clasp (the type I currently have) and another with two buckle clasps. It's the bracket with the two buckle clasps which is to be used with the mounting blocks supplied on M38's.
Thanks,
