Under hood decals

Post by shotgun »

I bought a decal set for under the hood for my M38. Is there any pictures of the proper placement?

The only Willys installed decal under the hood I am aware of is the battery cable disconnect warning that goes on the top of the underhood battery box and it is illustrated in the TM 9-8012 Pg 125 Fig 33 and directions for location are on Pg 15 Par d(3). Other decals and stencils like Hood opening, anti-freeze and etc would have been installed in the field and ended up in several locations. For those I would peruse the hundreds of photos in our member's albums and see what positions appeal to you.

The M38 air cleaner came with stamped instructions on the housing and doesn't need the decals which were meant for some WWII air cleaners. The M38 came with a Cuno oil filter so if you have a civvy Fram or military Junior made by Fram the oil filter decals wouldn't be used.

Most of those underhood decal kits are generic to several models of jeep so usually all are not used.
