My M38 came with the accessory plug still attached:
Rather than as shown in Wes's photo above, it was mounted with the "plug" end pointing into the engine bay, which I guess is wrong. My plug also had no wiring attached to it.
I'm guessing this plug goes into one of the three circuit breakers. Does anyone know what length the wire out of the plug should be?
Also, where does the wire pass through the firewall?
Thanks in advance,
Owen.

Lacking a factory blueprint showing the correct installation direction we have only the firewall illustration in the engine manual TM 9-1804A to show the longer rear end of the receptacle on the engine side. The wiring diagrams in the early m38 operator's manual TM 9-804 and the late TM 808012 show it both ways but they are a wiring diagram and often do not illustrate items in their correct orientation in the vehicle.
So with the receptacle in it's agreed screw on cover inside the firewall facing the dash position then it's power lead from the circuit breaker follows the route that the 8/9/10/12/33 Harness / cable assy (regulator harness) did through the firewall but was a stand alone wire since none of the 4 regulator harness changes coincided with the serial break for the aux power receptacle.
