My M100 is missing the box, so I can't confirm by actual inspection, but the April, 1972 manual I have seems to indicate four machine bolts, 1/4x28 UNF-2A, 1/2" long.

Don't underestimate the strength of 1/4" screws and bolts. They are used to hold the tail control surfaces and stabilizers on several small single engine airplanes.

I have an original box on mine. 4 1/4 screws hold it on. There are also lead washers sealing the box.
