It's been a LONG battle, but I like the results. Time now to enjoy it for awhile. The ENTIRE history is on my web site, as well as more pix of the final product.
Thanks to everybody on the forum who helped, either directly, or indirectly through having their photos available for reference.

Bill,
As I read your story about Europe and how you had your M38 shipped back to the states, it the same story I received when I bought mine. Mine came to Utah though as I was told. The guy I bought it from said he bought it from the GI who brought it over from Europe, so that would make me the 3rd owner, besides Uncle Sam.

Unfortunately, this is not the one I shipped home, I sold that when I needed some money for college. I do wish that I had kept it though! I tried to locate it in the town where it was sold, but despite several ads in the local paper, I never was able to track it down.
'Lazarus' is a total unknown, no record at all of where it came from. It spent it's time in Hades, I hope to treat it better.
Only problem now is: What do I do now!!!!!!

Since you went with a USAF hood and 2430 OD I's say that leaves the door wide open for an early FAC jeep with the correct FAC radio set for 1952, an M100 trailer and a PE95 generator set.
