had a "reinforced bumper". How is this different from the regular one?

The rear USMC bumper slipped on over the rear cross member therefore reinforcing it. It had longer attachment bolts for the bumperettes. I have one for sale in the for sale section, but I have also uploaded a picture of someone else's as I haven't had a chance to take a picture of mine yet. Another member commented and shows an Army rear cross member and I show a Marine rear cross member with the USMC bumper added on. Hope this helps answer your question.

This is the mod Dave is referring to. It's a USMC modification order that reinforces the original rear cross member and add's larger more circular lift rings both front and rear. Just peruse my photo album which has 100's of technical photos offering answers to 80% of the questions that come up here. 1st page of Member's Albums, the second album.
