Can anyone with the cable off their drum offer up these two measurements?

in the M38 1/4 Military Jeep Reference Guide by Miller on page 165 fig 20.3 .......there is a picture of a clean spool with this written on masking tape

11 x 3 1/2 R D

That gives me the 3 1/2" drum diameter but does not clarify the 11" measurement as being one of the three following choices:

1-Between the outer edges of the drum flanges.
2-Between the inner edges of the drum flanges.
3-Between the inner edge of the two radius's that transition from the flat horizontal drum surface to the flat vertical flange surface.

Sorry my jeep has been put away for the winter and has cable on it. I do need to take the cable off in the spring to shorten it some. If you don't have an answer by then I will take the measurements.

Thanks Bill. Is your winch a 50 or 50R? Is it on the jeep now?

Wes it's a 50R and mounted on the Jeep now. Jeep is about 80% completed. Hope to finish it over the winter.

Bill F, That sure looks like 10 5/8" on the distance between the drum flanges.

Bill B, Thanks. When you have a chance can you put together a group of detailed photos, especially those not see often from below the jeep and the left side of the engine back to the PTO and post them to your album here or email them to me?

Be glad to Wes. I didn't know I had an album here though.

I can also take photos of the whole setup in the spring. The only part I am missing is the pto shifter lock-out.
