So Ive been brainstorming for ideas and came across this picture on the web.

I've never seen an A1 like this before so I'm assuming the head light guards are not stock along with the pioneering tools on the passenger side. For that matter, there also appears to be an extra blackout light on the passenger fender?

My real question is the inverted opening of the windows. Is that stock or is this just a crazy frankenjeep mod?

I dont recall my baby's windows being able to open like that!

It's not an A1. Looks like a GI'd up CJ6. That's called a ventilating windshield. My 60 CJ5 came with one. It was a Willys option for all CJ3B's, M606's, M606A2's M606A3's, CJ5's and CJ6's. It was not offered on US military M38A1's but will drop right into the windshield brackets on an M38A1 or M170. Notice they vent the same way the MB/GPW windshields did.

Definitely a civvy Jeep. The BO light on the right fender looks like one of the bullet lights that would normally be mounted in a military grill, with a U bolt for a guard.

The chrome headlight bezels are also a dead getaway......

I'd be curious to hear what the owner claims it is

the way it is done up almost looks more like a brit landrover. they are kind of crazy with the add on for those.

the tires on the wheels and the side mounted spare look european like i've seen on pics of Nekefs and old land rovers. the hood mounted spare looks typical NDCC, but a hood mounted spare smacks of land rover influences. Even the landscape and architecture of the surroundings makes me think Europe or maybe australia/new zealand. But the steering looks to be on the left. Where was the jeep located?

Not gonna lie, that tilt windshield is right purty. May have to steal that idea.

Export model 1960's CJ6 with a Ventilating Windshield.

The Ventilating Windshield was a feature found only very rarely on 1960's USA CJ5's and CJ6's. Normal feature on export models.

It is a very slick design detail whose real function is to create a slight draft in the passenger area which keeps dust out when driving on dirt roads.

Totally by chance I found one on a '67 CJ5 with a Buick OddFire V6 engine literally 5 miles from the house for $800 with title and a Meyers hardtop. Thinking that the timing to buy another jeep was wrong I let it go... and... I have never seen another one!

Strictly a civi windshield, never military for a USA CJ5 and CJ6. Highly collectible and yep, I still regret not buying it!
