Ramsey PTO hanger Bearing Help

Post by DanS »

Does anyone have the dimensions or draft drawings with dimensions for the correct Ramsey 50 PTO Hanger bearing and it's parts? It is the bearing that hangs off the side of the bell housing and has shaft thru it. I have the pictures from the parts manual. This part is very hard to find and I would like to explore as whether this can be remanufactured for a reasonable price.

Hello Dan,

Good question. Let me help a wee bit. Can someone with a stock M38 winch installation drive support assembly post the measurements I have lettered or numbered in each illustration.

Also can anyone provide the part Timken or other manufacturer's part numbers for the seal Ord # 7411950 (Ramsey 79) (Willys 118276)?

Any help would be appreciated, even if you don't have all the measurements, I may be able to reverse engineer with at least some measurement(s). I think one of the critical ones would be the length of the drive shaft. Bearing mfg #, Seal mfg #?

Look in the parts manual. The bearing number is in there. The bearing MRC number crosses to Sealed Power B-104. The old leather seal dimensions are listed in the NSN search. Bore (outer diameter) 1.252-1.256, Shaft (inner diameter) 0.749-0.754 and width 0.469-0.499 all inches. Just take the seal dimensions to to the bearing supply house.
