Voltage Regulator rubber cushion and ground strap bracket

Looking to see if anyone knows if the two brackets that the rubber cushions and ground straps attached to for the voltage regulator were painted OD or unpainted. I have seen examples of both throughout pictures. Without the paint it looks like a silver finish as if they were plated. Picture below shows what I am talking about.

Mine appeared to be cad-plated; the photo on page 93 of Ryan's M38 Reference Guide suggests the same.

Rusty cad were mine. I just painted them silver after bead blasting. John

I am working on an A1 but the setup looks to be the same since they use the same regulator. Either way Cad looks to be correct. Thanks for replying guys!

Ditto...my M38's brackets are cad as well.
