The fording check valve fitting on the fuel pump goes in the center crankcase vent port. Has nothing to do with vacuum pump output.

The check valve is the item labeled connector in these illustrations. It is an 1/8" male pipe thread on the end that goes into the elbow and 3/16" flared tube to the line that goes to the bell housing. When the fording valves are closed and pressure builds up in the crankcase that pressure is routed to the bellhousing/tranny/transfer through that ball check valve assembly.
This ball check valve has been available off and on from Remi Edmond in Canada.

Note that if you're using the cold weather primer, you need another of those same check valves in the tee connection between the primer line and the fuel tank-to-fuel pump line (item V below, thanks to Wes' photo album):
Midwest Military also has them.
