Does anybody have a preferred method of securing new canvas seat covers with foam inserts to new plywood seat bottoms. I fabricated the plywood myself so I also don't have the "T Bolts" described in the Beachwood instructions.

I did the same thing to my 2nd m38 use staples you need the t bolts to fasten the plywood to the seat frame buzz

So if I don't have the bolts, is this something that is necessary and can be added to the plywood? Does anybody have a picture of what these look like?

No picture, but you should fit the plywood to the seat frame first with no padding or cover. There should be a metal tab that slips under the rear crossmember on each side about 2 inches in. Then mark the plywood and drill holes in it that align with the holes in the front crossmember. The T bolts have points and tack them selves on top of the plywood and protrude down into your drilled holes. You might glue them also. Then antiseize the threads so the bolt doesn't get rusted in the threads. I bought a set from surplus city jeep parts. They need denser foam. John

They are called T-nuts. Drill a hole, put the t nut in and draw it down into the wood with the bolt.

I'm with wilfreeman. You can get the t-nuts at most any hardware or building center. I usually countersink mine a little bit. Sometimes I use epoxy to help hold them in place when you remove the bolts. I also drill tiny holes for the 3 or 4 small pins. It makes it easier to install. I have never had a failure.

I got my seat cushions from WeeBee Webbing and this is what he used - I didn't have a problem installing them.

Should the plywood be cut to the exact same size as the aftermarket foam padding? I cut the plywood the exact size as the pans that were removed but they are about an inch too long on the back side?[/img]
